PRESS: Min against prolongation of 8% markup to railway tariff
MOSCOW, Oct 26 (PRIME) -- Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak sent a letter to Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov saying the ministry is against prolongation of an 8% export markup to Russian Railways’ tariff, Kommersant business daily reported on Friday citing the document.
The ministry “does not support Russian Railway’s proposals as their implementation put introduction of a long-term railroad tariffs policy at threat,” the daily said.
On October 17, the ministry received the company’s proposals on keeping the markup unchanged, adjusting the empty running payment by 63 billion rubles, and implementation on a mechanism to finance inactive and new railways at the expense of cargo owners.
